Avatar is a movie about pantheism, antihumanism, and anticapitalism. James Cameron showed us a pantheistic view of the world while showing capitalists as rapacious exploiters of nature. In pantheism, we identify with nature, which is a downward exit, while, in Christianity, we identify with Christ in God, an upward exit. Christianity is superior to pantheism in that respect.
